Gabriel,

O JW Marriot localiza-se no km 14,5 da zona Hotelera. Eu li que o mar é mais calmo entre os km 8 e 9. Tenho 2 dúvidas: 1) Mesmo me hospedando no JW Marriot, eu terei acesso ao trecho da praia com mar mais calmo? 2) Existe alguma estrutura de atendimento independente que ofereça comes e bebes aos banhistas, que não sejam hóspedes do hotel em frente ao trecho?

A praia é pública. Normalmente não há muito controle sobre quem entra ou sai dos hotéis, então na teoria você pode tentar entrar por algum deles. O mar em frente ao JW pode ser calmo ou mais forte, depende do dia. Eu não iria para outro local da Zona Hotelera apenas por causa do mar.
Playa del Carmen tem o mar bem calmo. Vale a pena conhecê-la. Cozumel também.

Obrigado pela resposta.

Veja minha situação: eu fiz reserva para Fev. no Hotel Riu Cancun ( km 9, all inclusive, U$275 a diária). Dias depois consegui uma reserva no JW Marriot ( U$199 a diária c/café da manhã e internet, de frente p/o mar). Estou tentando cancelar a reserva no Riu Cancun por email, mas eles não responderam a nenhum dos 5 emails enviados. Aí surgiu a questão em relação ao mar ser mais calmo em frente ao Riu. Não sei o que fazer!

O custo/benefício do JW é bem melhor então. A questão do mar é pessoal. Eu não escolheria um hotel baseando-me se o mar é calmo ou não. Se estiver agitado tem a piscina de borda infinita.
A reserva do Riu foi feita on-line? Se foi, deve ter como cancelar on-line também. Senão tente ligar para o hotel. Mas já é um mau sinal essa tratamento que você está recebendo.

Essa é a vista que você terá do seu quarto. Repare que, neste dia, está calmo o mar.

Que vista maravilhosa!!

Eu quero ficar no JW Marriot, mas tenho que convencer minha esposa.
Qto a reserva do Riu, acho que vou ter que ligar para o hotel para cancelar. Mas, como vc disse, é mau sinal!

Não dá para comparar o Riu com o JW. É outro nível, que só entende quem conhece. O Marriott preza pela excelência e o padrão americano de atendimento é rigoroso e eficiente. E, no caso de problemas, resolvem tudo rapidamente. É o melhor segmento do Marriott. Acima dele só o Ritz-Carlton, que é uma divisão sepadara.

What is Club 91?

Club 91 is for up to two guests over 16 years of age per room. Any additional guests brought into the Lounge will incur a $50 daily membership fee.
Guests under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult when in the Lounge. Up to two children till 5 are free; children from 6 to 12 will have an extra charge of $25 per day. Children 13 and over will pay $50 a day.
**Rate will have 14 % additional per taxes**
Club 91 is not a concierge lounge or executive floor and is only available through Club rates.
Transportation is included for two guests over 16 years of age per room. Any additional guests will have to pay transportation fee directly to the transportation company (can be charged to guestroom). Up to two children under 6 will not have transportation charges. Guests must arrive in the same flight, minimum stay three nights. The transportation is a service that may be shared with some other guests.
Lounge hours of operation are from 7am - 10pm

Existe a seguinte promoção no pacote de diárias no hotel JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa: "Sand Dollars Package! 4th Night Free!, buy 3 nights get 4th free, 50 USD resort credit daily, see Rate Rules" - a Diária sai por 279 dolares

Você disse no tópico que se paga 25 dolares por pessoa por dia para ter acesso ao café da manhã do hotel, certo?

Então essa promoção é ótmia, porque você ficar três noites, ganha uma e ainda ganha um crédito de 50 dolares por dia pra usar no café da manhã de duas pessoas.

Nesse sentido, essa promoção é muito melhor do que essa:"Stay for Breakfast rate, includes breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children under 12" - a diária sai por 299 dolares

Será que isso tá certo?
